Annual Report 2008 Annual Report                                                                                              　 Conducting positive social beliefs and values In the 21st Century, the increasing importance of media, has changed the way individuals and societies acquire information, and now there is a shift towards another new type of media, which is ‘we media’, implies that everyone is the media today. However, this has also generated risks when huge amount of media bombard our daily lives. 　 Pioneering in new concepts – Promoting media literacy With the evolved communication technology today, the mass media have become the major sources of information and entertainment for all of us. The influence has now even surpassed those from the family and schools. Indeed, the use of media has changed the way people think and act. In 1998, FCEF started to promote media literacy as a pioneer in Taiwan. 　 Running “Young Voice In response to UNICEF’s “Voices of Youth” program, FCEF launched “Young Voice” Internet platform in 2005(www.youngvoice.com.tw). 　 Encouraging participation in healthy leisure activities In order to encourage young people to participate in healthy leisure activities, FCEF has supported the “Fubon Bulls Baseball Team” since 1993. The baseball team has brought out several excellent national-level players, and they have become the members of Olympic Game stand for Taiwan. 　 Cultivating future leaders FCEF serves the society with a goal to “safeguard the leaders of the new generation.” FCEF has spreading out its activities into campuses by inviting experts from different fields to share and discuss issues with high school students.
